It’s no secret that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League brought about some backlash from fans after they decided to boldly kill off Batman, the very same Batman that fans have loved and adored since his introduction in Batman: Arkham Asylum. With this triumphant character dead, audiences need to remember that in the world of comic books, no one’s ever really gone.

8 Things the DCU’s Batman Must Get Right

The DCU has an opportunity to bring the most comic-accurate Batman to life with a grand respect for the more fantastical mythos.

There are a lot of hints that Batman could be making a comeback in the story of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, so those tearing out hairs over the character’s “disrespectful” death might find some solace and quell their anxieties with a few ways that Batman can be brought back from the dead.

The Flash is Known to Meddle with Time Travel and Paradoxes

The Flash is often regarded as the Fastest Man Alive, and with that title, comes the intense ability to bend the Speed Force and manipulate spacetime. The Flash has been able to run so fast that he can travel back in time and across various dimensions multiple times, most infamously when he inadvertently rebooted the DC Universe to the New 52.

Considering the Flash is alive and regaining his strength in the current continuity of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, there’s quite a bit of potential that he could use his powers to undo the mess that he and the Justice League caused from Brainiac. Traveling back in time to save Batman and the Justice League is definitely on the cards.

5 A Failed Brainiac Clone

Brainiac Has Cloned Other Heroes, So Why Not Batman?

Like with the now-alive members of the Justice League of Green Lantern and the Flash, it’s revealed that the Justice Leaguers that players fought in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League were just DNA-altered clones, failed experiments of the original members of the Justice League that remain onboard Brainiac’s diabolical skull ship.

Considering the Flash and Green Lantern have been saved, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Batman share a similar fate, in which it’s revealed that the Batman who took a bullet to the brain from Harley Quinn was a twisted clone and not the real Batman that audiences love.

4 An Escaped Dark Multiverse Batman

The Dark Multiverse Has Multiple Evil Batman Variants

In the current continuity of DC Comics, there exists the Dark Multiverse. It’s an inverse of the Multiverse that comic readers know and love, and it basically features twisted versions of iconic characters, most importantly, twisted versions of Batman. Within the Dark Multiverse, evil Batman variants feature quite frequently, with more famous grins like The Batman Who Laughs stealing the show.

DC: Most Powerful Evil Versions Of Batman

Batman may be a beloved superhero in the main universe of DC Comics, but the Multiverse often holds sinister antics for the Caped Crusader.

With Brainiac’s meddling with the Multiverse, and his conquering of it, it would make for an interesting story twist to reveal that the Batman within the game itself is a Dark Multiverse variant, working for Barbatos the Bat God under the guise of Brainiac. While unlikely, it could be a story beat that spills into a future Arkham game if it’s revealed that this killer Batman is an alternate.

3 The Lazarus Pit

The Pool That De-Ages and Brings the Dead Back to Life

There isn’t just one Lazarus Pit in the world, and Ra’s Al Ghul uses them to be reborn as the Demon’s Head and lead the League of Assassins to new heights. Ra’s Al Ghul has lived for hundreds of years, and despite his death in Batman: Arkham City, and the destruction of Wonder City’s Lazarus Pit, he still causes trouble in Batman: Arkham Knight’s Season of Infamy.

Considering how well-respected Batman is within the League of Assassins, and as the World’s Greatest Detective by Ra’s himself, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see Batman come back as a restored version of himself through the use of the Lazarus Pit. Although, stopping the Lazarus Pit’s madness might be another story altogether.

2 Wielding a White Lantern Ring

The Lantern Ring of Purity and Life Itself

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League introduces new concepts from DC Comics into the Arkhamverse, and most importantly, it brings about the color spectrum for the Lantern Corps. With Green Lantern featured, the Suicide Squad utilizes the power from Sinetro’s yellow fear rings to bring him down, but what of the other rings?

Black Lantern rings bring the dead back to life as zombies, but there are also the White Lantern rings, which return the dead to the living as their purest forms. With Earth in turmoil, it might be time for the Justice League to rise as White Lanterns.

1 Zatanna Meddles with Dark Magic

Zatanna and Other Magic Users can Bring Back the Dead

One character that has featured heavily in easter eggs throughout the Batman Arkham series is Zatanna, a magician and close friend of Bruce Wayne who has many shows sprout up throughout Gotham and Metropolis. She’s a true showman with her magical acts, but she also helps the Justice League deal with occult and dark magic.

Joining with John Constantine and other magical characters, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Justice League Dark come out of hiding and use their magical abilities and knowledge to resurrect Batman, especially since audiences know Zatanna exists in this universe.
