8 Confirmed Villains In The Arkhamverse Who Have Never Appeared

The Arkhamverse is massive, with Batman: Arkham Shadow providing even more lore to the long-running DC video game universe. With each game, not only does Batman face off against many villains, but Rocksteady, WB Games Montreal, and Camouflaj have gone out of their way to add nuggets of information that confirm the existence of many other villains.

Whether it is a file on the Batcomputer, a detail within the open world, or a direct reference from other characters, some villains exist within the Arkhamverse but have yet to physically appear. It shows how much is still left open for developers to make more sequels and prequels set in Gotham or other parts of the DC universe.

8 Crazy Quilt

Dick Grayson’s Twisted Yet Colorful Archnemesis

Real Name: Paul Dekker First Appearance: Boy Commandos #15 Creator: Jack Kirby

Though he is more of a villain of Dick Grayson, Batman also has many encounters with Crazy Quilt in the comics. In Batman: Arkham City, when Batman roams Gotham City pursuing a member of the League Of Assassins, three criminals speculate about who defeated Two-Face in the Solomon Wayne courthouse, with one directly mentioning Crazy Quilt.

The Batman: Arkham games have become known for adapting obscure villains in memorable ways, such as Firefly and Professor Pyg. Crazy Quilt being this blind villain who uses colors to hypnotize people and other gimmicks could be a unique side mission. If Dick Grayson were to get his own game, Crazy Quilt could be a villain there, since Dick is the one who rendered Quilt blind in the comics.

Obscure Fiend For Both Batman And Bruce Wayne

Starting with Batman: Arkham City, the Krank Co. Toys company is featured in almost every Arkhamverse game. Most might not realize that it references a villain who did not originate from the comics. In the 2003 animated series, The Batman, Cosmo Krank was an original villain who uses weaponized toys to get revenge on Bruce Wayne for shutting down Krank Co. Toys.

With Bruce’s identity exposed at the end of Arkham Knight, the Toymaker would have the perfect opportunity to pursue vengeance if Rocksteady wanted to tell a story between the events of Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League. There is a lot of untapped potential in an era where Bruce Wayne is publicly known as Batman now.

6 Humpty Dumpty

Real Name: Humphrey Dumpler First Appearance: Arkham Asylum: Living Hell #2 Creator: Dan Slott, Ryan Sook

The only references to this villain were in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, with Humpty Dumpty’s file being unlocked after solving a riddle. In the official Arkhamverse timeline, he is described as a man with the tenacity to break things apart, having tried to murder his grandmother due to childhood abuse.

Humphrey Dumpler, AKA Humpty Dumpty, was said to have started with small crimes before elevating into causing major disasters for Gotham City. It was said that Hugo Strange did lock him up in Arkham City, but his condition after the events of that game is unknown.

A Villain Who Wields Time As The Ultimate Weapon

Real Name: William Tockman, Temple Fugate First Appearance: World’s Finest Comics #111 Creator: France Herron, Lee Elias

The first time The Clock King was mentioned was in Batman: Arkham Knight and it was to confirm that he was killed by Jason Todd, AKA Red Hood, before the events of his DLC chapter. It’s uncertain how long the character was operating as a villain, but he’s one that fans likely would have enjoyed fighting considering he had a beloved episode of Batman: The Animated Series.

The Clock King is a man who knows the schedules of everything in Gotham City, from the trains to people’s routes. He even knows every single punch and kick, which makes him one of the few who can dodge the Caped Crusader’s movements. There are two different versions of the character and one of them, William Tockman, is teased via a shop sign in Batman: Arkham Knight.

4 The Great White Shark

Arkham Asylum’s Resident Crime Lord

With bleached white skin and teeth filed to look razor sharp, Warren White is as smart as he is dangerous. He already knew how to embezzle millions of dollars, but when locked behind bars and disfigured by Mr. Freeze, he became a racketeering crime lord within the Gotham City underworld and all without leaving a foot outside his cell.

Warren is also known as The Great White Shark and the remnants of his lips, ears, and nose can be found inside a jar in Batman: Arkham Asylumas the answer to a riddle. His criminal empire didn’t end after Arkham City was built, because players could find a building belonging to “W. White” in the prison city and it was confirmed that he survived Hugo Strange’s Protocol 10.

3 Killer Moth

Mysterious Assassin And Escapee Of Arkham Asylum

There is no shortage of assassins and mercenaries in the Gotham City underworld and Drury Walker remains one that has yet to be seen in the games, despite being labeled as a cunning gun-for-hire. Known as Killer Moth, he was revealed to be the first villain that Barbara Gordon fought as Batgirl, utilizing a cocoon gun to trap his targets.

Killer Moth was locked up in Arkham Asylum, but when Joker took over the island in the first game, it was confirmed that he did not stick around. Instead, Killer Moth escapes from Arkham Island and is captured again by A.R.G.U.S., as he is mentioned as a backup if one of Task Force X dies in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League.

2 Maxie Zeus

In a world filled with many eccentric villains, Maxie Zeus is one that the community is surprised to have never appeared. In Batman: Arkham Asylum, it is revealed that the Arkham staff treated Maximilian “Maxie” Zeus as something untreatable to be thrown away when Batman discovers a cell that was completely sealed off by stone walls with no windows or doors, like some monster.

In the comics and animation, Maxie Zeus is a man who truly believes that he is the Greek god of the same name, and such self-deception results in an illusory truth effect, with him gaining a criminal empire that serves him like a god. Strangely enough though, it was said that Maxie Zeus mysteriously disappeared when subjected to electroshock therapy, possibly teasing that he has powers.

The Scrapped DLC Villain Meant To Be A Dark Reflection Of Batman

Real Name: Unknown First Appearance: Prometheus #1 Creators: Grant Morrison, Arnie Jorgensen

Easily the most famous example of a missing villain, Prometheus is said to be an evil version of Batman. He’s an unknown man whose parents were gunned down by police, so he grew up and trained all over the globe to dedicate his life to destroying law and order, becoming a master class of criminals.

Prometheus was referenced in Batman: Arkham Asylum as one of the facility’s most infamous patients and he avoided being arrested and put in Arkham City. Prometheus was originally supposed to be one of the many villains featured in Batman: Arkham Knight, but his entire DLC mission was scrapped, much to the dismay of fans.
