James Gunn’s major overhaul of the DC Comics universe has concluded the main ongoing productions. Key portrayals such as Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill’s Superman in the Snyderverse, along with the Arrowverse series (Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, etc.) have all ended, paving the way for a brand-new iteration of the superhero franchise.
However, a few productions managed to slip through the net, including Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, Robert Pattinson’s Batman, and John Cena’s Peacemaker. Additionally, a fan-favorite series has also continued production. Rated 4.2 out of 5 by AlloCiné users, this series is returning for a fifth season.
The series in question is none other than Harley Quinn, an animated production focused on the infamous antagonist. Now free from the Joker, she embarks on her own adventures with a team of supervillains, including Poison Ivy, King Shark, and Clayface. The series features numerous nods to the DC Comics franchise, delivered with the same irreverent tone as its main heroine.
A Character Portrayed by Multiple Actors
The character has seen significant success with audiences, thanks to portrayals by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad films, and more recently by Lady Gaga in Joker 2. However, in this animated version, Harley Quinn is voiced by Kaley Cuoco—a well-known actress among fans of The Big Bang Theory.
The American actress’s performance has been praised by many fans, some of whom prefer her voice portrayal to the live-action versions mentioned above, considering it one of the best, second only to the late Arleen Sorkin’s performance in the Batman animated series.
It’s worth noting that in the French version, this change in actresses is not perceived, as the Harley Quinn from the films and the animated version are both voiced by the same actress, Dorothée Pousséo. This creates a unique link between the different DC productions specific to the French version.
