New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard has revealed that quarterback Aaron Rodgers made an impromptu appearance in the team’s locker room “like Batman”, the popular DC Comics character, to motivate his team.
“He just came into the team room like Batman, honestly. It was kind of a Hollywood-esque moment of just like, Aaron Rodgers, y’know… Appearing, walking… I just thought he was about to fly, honestly. Like Zach and Renaud said, it was just about all sticking together, believing in each other – there’s going to be rough times throughout the games, throughout the season, but just having belief” the receiver said at a press conference.
The Jets fell 23-20 over the weekend to the Kansas City Chiefs in an extremely close duel. For now, the New York team remains at the bottom of the AFC East with a 1-3 record.
Aaron Rodgers was present at the game. Since Week 1 he has been on the injured list after tearing his Achilles in the game against the Buffalo Bills.
Lazard mentioned that Rodgers showed up just when they needed him most, especially backup quarterback Zach Wilson.
“He came to tell Zach and all of us that it was just about staying together, believing in each other; that there will be difficult moments throughout the game, throughout the season. But you always have to support each other and believe,” he continued.
The presence of Aaron Rodgers was immediately motivating as they rose from a 17-0 deficit and had the game tied 20-20, although in the end they ended up losing by the minimum.
