The action in DC’s House of Brainiac event will ramp up even further across the pages of Action Comics and Superman this May, with DC giving fans a first look at covers and interior art for the new issues. Power Girl will also join the action with a special tie-in issue.
As Brainiac and his Czarnian army rob Metropolis of its super-powered protectors, Superman, Lobo and the rest of the Super-Family must join the fight to bring a stop to the evil conqueror. Joshua Williamson’s Action Comics #1065 is House of Brainiac’s third installment, with the issue showing Superman and Lobo fighting Brainiac’s army in outer space while Supergirl and Conner Kent handle the threat from inside. In Superman #14, the fourth part of the event arrives with Lobo appearing to betray the Man of Steel as the two come to blows while Brainiac gets even closer to bringing the Brainiac Queen to life.

In the House of Brainiac tie-in, Power Girl #9, the titular character continues her quest to protect Metropolis against Brainiac’s impending horde. Joining her is Lobo’s daughter, Crush, who quickly becomes one of the Czarnian’s hostages. Power Girl must save the day on her own while avoiding the Goblin and his intergalactic biker gang in the process.
House of Brainiac Leads Into DC’s Big Summer Event
DC Comics recently announced that it will have a blockbuster summer event called Absolute Power, launching off of the events of House of Brainiac. The story will detail Amanda Waller’s plot to steal all metahuman abilities — from superheroes as well as supervillains. The event will see DC’s biggest heroes, including Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, uniting to bring Amanda Waller down.

This year’s Free Comic Book Day saw the release of an Absolute Power centered comic, featuring an original story that recapped the events leading up to Absolute Power while also giving fans a sneak peek of what’s to come in Absolute Power #1. A prelude titled Absolute Power: Ground Zero will debut in June, connecting Amanda Waller to the House of Brainiac storyline and setting up Absolute Power’s story for more action.
