Up, up and away! The DC Universe’s Superman and Supergirl meet in a stunning piece of fan art posted to social media. The new Man of Steel, David Corenswet, and the Woman of Tomorrow, Milly Alcock, are brought to life in a remarkable drawing inspired by DC Comics’ classic 1964 and 1965 80-Page Giant series, which reprinted stories involving the Last Son of Krypton’s family. Check out the imagery of Kal-El (Corenswet) and Kara (Alcock) below:

The style of the artwork reflects the same aesthetic chosen by James Gunn and his creative team when they unveiled several of the characters from his 2025 film, Superman, in similar-looking comic book-esque drawings. Corenswet was cast to play Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman in June 2023, while Alcock was hired to portray Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, back in January.

The social media post boasting the intriguing fan art posits the Kryptonian cousins meeting in an 80-Page Giant-Sized book written by James Gunn titled simply Superman and Supergirl. The post reads as follows (via @davi_a86 on X, formerly Twitter):

Over the weekend, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed his unique take on DC/Marvel’s rivalry as the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con unfolded. Meanwhile, James Gunn’s Superman movie didn’t have a presence at the comic book convention, but the co-chair and co-CEO of DC Studios did take to social media yesterday (Tuesday, July 30) to announce that filming has officially wrapped on the Man of Steel’s 2025 big-screen adventure. Gunn wrote in a social media post (via Instagram):

“And that’s a wrap.
God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity, and hard work have brought this project to life.
I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much.
And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has
inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
It has been an honor.
The destination has been Superman,
but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set
– and for that I am forever grateful. ❤️”
