WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for ABSOLUTE POWER: TASK FORCE VII #6!

Every Wonder Woman fan knows Diana Prince was raised on Themyscira among her fellow Amazons, where her Queen Mother, Hippolyta, instilled in her the unshakable values of compassion, love, and inner strength. Now, this very origin has become Wonder Woman’s most powerful weapon in defeating a villain once thought to be unstoppable.

The potential destruction of Diana’s homeland threatens to wipe out one of the most iconic pieces of Wonder Woman lore.

Stephanie Williams and Khary Randolph’s Absolute Power: Task Force VII #6, set for release on September 11, is a pivotal chapter in Amanda Waller’s relentless war against DC’s metahuman population. In this issue, Waller’s latest weapon, the Wonder Woman-inspired Amazo, takes center stage. Having already stolen Diana’s powers in Wonder Woman #11, the Amazo-N now targets Themyscira itself, setting up a high-stakes confrontation on the Amazons’ home turf.

However, the power-stealing robot has absorbed more than just Diana’s abilities—it’s also taken on her memories and experiences. This unexpected side effect could prove to be its undoing, as the very essence of Wonder Woman might undermine the Amazo-N from within.

“AMAZO-N” is not the official name of the Wonder Woman-inspired Amazo, but is rather a nickname that Screen Rant has given the thus far unnamed villain.

AMAZO-N: Amanda Waller’s Wonder Woman-Inspired AMAZO Is Coming For Themyscira

The Amazo-N First Debuted In Wonder Woman #11 by Tom King

The AMAZO-N is one of Amanda Waller’s power-stealing Amazo robots, forming part of her new Task Force VII, which is led by the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh-possessed Failsafe. Modeled specifically after Wonder Woman, the Amazo-N made its debut in Tom King’s Wonder Woman #11, where it stole Diana’s powers along with those of several Justice League Dark members. Like the other Amazos, the Amazo-N is inhabited by the personality of one of the Zur-En-Arrh Batmen of the Multiverse, specifically the Gotham by Gaslight Batman.

The fusion of Amazo technology, Batman’s intellect, Waller’s ambitions, and the stolen powers of several A-list Justice Leaguers makes the Amazo-N a truly formidable foe. In Task Force VII #6, this unstoppable force has now turned its focus on Themyscira. As revealed in the preview and synopsis, Waller has unleashed the Amazo-N to strike at Queen Nubia and the Amazons on their sacred island. With Superman’s Fortress of Solitude already laid to waste in Waller’s last Amazo attack, the stakes couldn’t be higher for Themyscira’s fate. The potential destruction of Diana’s homeland threatens to wipe out one of the most iconic pieces of Wonder Woman lore.

Wonder Woman’s Greatest Weapon Against the Amazo-N Are Her Memories and Experiences

Amanda Waller Confirms That “Goodness” Is a Threat to the Amazo’s in Absolute Power #3

In addition to confirming that Themyscira is the Amazo-N’s next target, the preview for Task Force VII #6 reveals an unexpected side effect of absorbing Wonder Woman’s powers: the Amazo-N has also taken on a portion of Diana’s memories, experiences, and moral code—key aspects that define her steadfast character. These “abstractions,” as the Amazo-N calls them, begin to conflict with its programming, as Diana’s morals clash with the Amazo’s orders. This internal struggle is starting to cause the Amazo-N to malfunction, exposing a significant weakness in Waller’s creation.

The unforeseen side effect of the Amazos absorbing the heroes’ morals had been hinted at throughout various issues of the crossover crisis event, but was officially confirmed in Absolute Power #3. In that issue, Failsafe and Waller realize the Amazos aren’t performing as expected and discover that the power-stealing robots are being “infected” by the “goodness” of the heroes they’re siphoning powers from. This leads Failsafe and Waller to reboot the Amazos, with the consequences of the reboot for the Amazo-N being teased in the preview for Task Force VII #6.

The Amazo-N Isn’t the Only Amazo Being Affected By the Morals & Values of DC’s Heroes

Velocity, Jadestone, and the Last Son Are Also Malfunctioning

As previously mentioned, the Amazo-N is far from the only Amazo affected by the unintended absorption of DC heroes’ morals. Velocity, the Flash-inspired Amazo; Jadestone, the Green Lantern-inspired Amazo; and the Last Son, the Superman-inspired Amazo, are also malfunctioning due to the morals they’ve absorbed. This represents a systemic weakness affecting all the Amazos, not just the Amazo-N. However, with Waller rebooting the Amazos, it’s possible that the Wonder Woman-inspired Amazo, along with the others, may no longer be influenced by the heroes’ values, potentially overcoming their shared weakness.
