The co-CEO of the rebooted DC Universe, James Gunn, has finally responded to rumors surrounding a possible movie about Mr. Freeze.
Mr. Freeze, also known as Dr, Victor Fries, is a known villain of Gotham’savior, Batman. He is a genius who specializes in cryogenics with a tragic backstory. Tackling the rumors suggesting a Mr. Freeze movie is in the works, Gunn has addressed some fans online.
According to ComicBookMovie.com, the rumors of a Mr. Freeze movie were stirred after information regarding it was published in the Production Weekly. Not only did the information hint at a possible movie, but it also stated that the project might be set in the world of Matt Reeves’ The Batman and The Penguin.
A user on the social media platform Threads asked Gunn whether the rumor was true. Gunn replied, ”I haven’t heard that one but there are a lot of rumors out there this week. Some of them are true, some are partially true, and some aren’t true at all. If it’s fun for you to follow the unknowns, follow them, but don’t trust anything completely until you hear it from me or Peter (who is not online despite me seeing him tagged in stuff.)”
Another user shared a screengrab of an article talking about a Mr. Freeze movie reportedly in development and asked whether it has any truth. Gunn did comment directly, but said, ”It’s not a bad idea, so I wouldn’t say never but no there’s no truth to it at all.”
So for now, there is no movie on Mr. Freeze movie in production. However, as per the outlet, some rumors suggest he might be a villain in the sequel to The Batman considering the winter setting of the movie.
