DC made waves at New York Comic Con 2024 during the “Jim Lee & Friends” panel, delivering major news for comic fans. Here’s a breakdown of the key announcements.
Jim Lee & Jeph Loeb Reveal ‘Hush 2’
The biggest reveal was the announcement of Hush 2, the long-awaited sequel to the iconic Batman storyline Hush. Jim Lee and Jeph Loeb confirmed that Hush 2 will debut in 2025 within the ongoing Batman comic series. Fans will get a preview of the sequel in Justice League Unlimited #1 on November 27. This follow-up to the critically acclaimed original promises to reignite excitement, with stunning artwork by Lee, Scott Williams, and Alex Sinclair.

“Yes, coming March of 2025–we are bringing the band back together!” Lee posted on Instagram. “Starting with @Batman 158 in March of next year—writer @jephloeb3 inker @scottwilliamsinks @colorist @sinccolor and @richstarkings and I will be returning to the depths of Gotham City as Hush returns!”
Lee continued, “More to come in the interim but here’s the progress shots of the first cover, a page from a 4 page prelude that will exclusively debut in Justice League Unlimited (in comic shops end of November) and the double page spread (pages 2-3) of Batman issue 158 to tide you over. All part of the @dcofficial ALL-IN initiative!”
Lee added, “We have extremely big shoes to fill in the current Batman creatives Chip Zdarksy and @jorge_jimenez_art who are bringing their outstanding, nearly two year tenure on our flagship title to an epic, climatic conclusion. Thank you gentlemen for your critically acclaimed, character redefining run!”
DC Vertigo Imprint Returns for Creator-Owned Projects
Jim Lee also announced the revival of the beloved DC Vertigo imprint, focusing on creator-owned comic books and graphic novels. Among the first titles under this imprint is the reprint of James Tynion IV and Álvaro Martínez Bueno’s The Nice House by the Sea, which will bear the new Vertigo logo. Fans at the event were treated to exclusive editions of the comic.
‘Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante/Eagly Double Feature!’
Fans of HBO’s Peacemaker series have something exciting to look forward to between seasons. A new five-issue comic book series titled Peacemaker Presents: The Vigilante/Eagly Double Feature! will dive deeper into fan-favorite characters Vigilante and Eagly. Written by Tim Seeley and Mitch Gerads, with James Gunn as story consultant, the series will drop in 2025.
‘Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2’
DC’s crossover event Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong is already a hit, and fans were thrilled to hear about the sequel, Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2. The series will expand on the Monsterverse by adding legendary monsters like Ghidorah, Rodan, and Mothra, and pit the Justice League against “titanized” super-villains in a battle for survival.
