The upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie has found its Ruthye.

Craig Gillespie is currently working on a DCU Supergirl movie that will be based on Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Milly Alcock has been cast in the titular role, while Matthias Schoenaerts is playing Krem.

Per Deadline, Eve Ridley has now been cast as Ruthye Mary Knolle in the DC Studios and Warner Bros. film.

In King and Evely’s comic, Ruthye’s father is killed by the villainous Krem at the start of the story. She then recruits Supergirl to travel across the galaxy and find Krem so that she can have her revenge.

Ridley starred in two episodes of Netflix’s 3 Body Problem series as Follower. She has also voiced characters in several children’s television shows, such as Little Baby Bum: Music Time and Isadora Moon.

The DCU Supergirl movie is being written by Ana Nogueira. James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing the film, while Chantal Nong serves as an executive producer.

Further plot details and casting information remain under wraps at this time.

“Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose,” the comic solicitation for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1 reads. “Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a vicious mission. Her world has been destroyed, and the bad guys responsible are still out there. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head out into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core.”

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow releases in United States theaters on June 26, 2026.
