Amanda Waller is losing control of one of her most powerful assets, and it is all thanks to one of DC’s greatest Green Lanterns.
Absolute Power: Task Force VII #3 picks up shortly after the Amazo android known as Jadestone steals the powers of several members of the Justice Society, including Alan Scott. While this simultaneously takes multiple high-powered targets off the board and gives Waller a new edge over the competition, the situation isn’t nearly that simple. This shift could take Waller’s entire operation down from within.

Alan Scott, better known as the Green Lantern, made his DC Comics debut in Bill Finger and Martin Nodell’s “The Origin of Green Lantern” from the pages of 1940’s All-American Comics #16. Rather than wielding an ordinary Green Lantern Power Ring, Scott commands the power of the Starheart. This ancient artifact was crafted by the Guardians of the Universe from the various mystical energies that the Guardians amassed over countless years.
The android known as Jadestone is just one of seven who comprise Amanda Waller’s eponymous Task Force. The first of these, Failsafe, was crafted from the remnants of its former self as an otherwise ordinary Amazo android into a literal fail-safe against Batman by his dark, twisted persona – Zur-En-Arrh. Since its war against the Batman Family fell apart, Failsafe has joined Waller in her war against the world’s heroes, helping to give rise to six other androids like itself who are capable of stealing away the powers of others seemingly permanently.
‘I Am the First Female Penguin’: Minnie Driver Addresses Batman: Caped Crusader Role
Minnie Driver opens up about taking on the role of DC’s very first female Penguin in Bruce Timm’s new animated series – Batman: Caped Crusader.
Whereas Jadestone is coming to terms with the inner turmoil it has developed since stealing away Alan Scott’s powers as the Green Lantern, it isn’t the only member of Task Force VII who is facing some seriously concerning internal issues. As seen in Absolute Power: Task Force VII #1, the android known as Last Son is also falling apart at the seams, spouting what seems like incoherent strings of words while deep in the battle against some of the only superpowers who have held onto their abilities since Waller launched her all-out war on the likes of the Justice League.
