DC’s Best Flash & Green Lantern Team-Up Finally Returns After Decades Apart
Wally West and Kyle Rayner Are Back Together At Long Last
Wally West and Kyle Rayner are both legacy heroes carrying on their respective predecessor’s legacy, which has both divided and bonded them. In Wally’s case, he joins the Justice League in Barry Allen’s shadow, while Kyle serves as the Green Lantern in the aftermath of Hal Jordan’s Parallax transformation. The burden of living up to those who came before them drove a wedge between them at first, as they felt pressured by the history of Green Lantern and Flash friendships in DC lore and would frequently butt heads. Throughout their tenure in the Justice League, however, they overcame their differences and became best friends in their own right.

DC Reveals Which Young Hero Will Lead the Justice League Once Its Modern Heroes Retire
The next generation of heroes is on the rise, and DC has just confirmed which hero will become the Justice League’s new leader in the future.
As the Flash and Green Lantern of the Justice League’s 1990s era, Wally and Kyle became inseparable, but they hit a snag once Barry Allen and Hal Jordan returned and took back their titles. DC’s controversial New 52 reboot then erased Wally from existence for several years, severing his tie with Kyle. Wally is currently back as the main Flash, but prior to this story, he and Kyle hadn’t interacted at all after his return to continuity in 2016. Flash and Green Lantern hanging out again has therefore been a long time coming, and this highly anticipated moment proves that their bond remains as strong as ever.

Justice League’s “Unlimited” Relaunch Can Reignite the Flash & Green Lantern Bond
The Flash and Green Lantern are consistently estranged because they haven’t been part of the Justice League’s roster at the same time in decades. Luckily, that obstacle has been eliminated by the Justice League’s “unlimited” revamp. Every hero in the DC Universe now has membership by default, which means Wally and Kyle are both members of the team. Taste of Justice #1 has already taken advantage of this change by bringing them together for a Justice League gathering, and it’s only a matter of time before Green Lantern and the Flash join forces on a mission – just like in the good old days.
Taste of Justice #1 is available now from DC Comics.
The Flash
The Flash is the superhero name given to the DC Comics character who utilizes unparalleled speed tied to a dimensional power known as the “speed force” to overwhelm their opposition. Premiering in 1939, the original Flash arrived as Jay Garrick. Still, it would be superseded by Barry Allen in popularity and featured status, but the Flash is one character that has met many of their alternate selves. The character is typically seen as a part of the Justice League in nearly all incarnations.
Green Lantern
Green Lantern is the name given to multiple enforcers of intergalactic justice in the DC Universe. Green Lanterns can harness the cosmic energy of willpower, and create unique spectral objects to face off against their enemies. Though some Green Lanterns have assisted with the Justice League, they primarily belong to the Green Lantern Corps.
