After 85 years of protecting Gotham, Batman is nowhere near retirement, and Hollywood knows it. The Dark Knight will be the first superhero to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, 26 September, announced DC in a press release, along with a Guinness World Record for that same feat.

Batman is set to receive the 2790th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and his star will be located next to the stars of Adam West, who acted in the 1966 Batman TV series, and the co-creator of Batman, Bob Kane. Batman will show up at the ceremony to receive his star in front of the Hollywood Guinness World Records Museum, with a special presentation by official adjudicator Michael Empric to welcome the character into the Walk of Fame.

A fan event will be held on the same day, and the first 100 fans who purchase a Batman-related product at Funko Hollywood are also entitled to a meet-and-greet signing session with DC Comics president and Batman comic book artist Jim Lee. Other activities include a Batman-themed pop-up at Funko Hollywood, featuring costumes and props from Batman’s history in film and TV, with more details to follow.

Since the character’s first appearance in 1939’s Detective Comics #27, Batman has gone on to become one of DC’s most well-loved superheroes. There’s plenty more to come in future Batman projects, including the upcoming The Penguin TV series on HBO Max, as well as a sequel to 2022’s The Batman, so fans have plenty to look forward to.
