The Dark Knight of DC Comics, Batman
, has more live-action appearances under his utility belt than most other superheroes combined, with each new take on his iconic batsuit bringing something unique to Batman’s visual history that can’t be seen anywhere else. In a new series of cosplay images, Batman gets a redesigned movie-ready costume that shows exactly what his upcoming DCU counterpart should look like when he makes his big-screen debut.
An impressive live-action look recently shared on social media via Instagram by Jake Fogg (@foggyknight14), this cosplayer has designed and worn scores of comic-accurate looks over the years, with his multiple homemade Batman costumes turning Jake into the go-to creator for all things Caped Crusader.
Slipping into the shoes of other iconic comic characters like Superman, Gambit, Captain America, and Deadpool, Jake has even tried his hand at embodying characters outside the comic space, with his James Bond, Geralt, and Aragorn designs proving that Jake has the necessary talent to bring to life some of fictions greatest heroes and villains.
New DC Comics Cosplay Proves That Batman Needs a Makeover in the Live-Action Space

Having a respectable run of costumes thus far in his live-action career — the character’s infamous “nipple suit” admittedly bending that rule ever so slightly — Batman’s batsuits have come in all shapes and sizes over the years, with each new appearance bringing something unique to the table from a design perspective. Going from wearing actual spandex à la Adam West to a full-on rubber suit like Michael Keaton’s to something more sleek and refined like Christian Bale’s to the bulky fit of Ben Affleck’s batsuit, Batman’s real-world designs consistently pull elements from comics, with Jake’s cosplay pushing that idea even further.

Batman has had countless artists draw him over the years, with new cosplay photos taking Lee Bermejo’s art and turning it into live-action perfection.
Posing with fists at the ready, Jake’s latest take on Batman borrows elements from multiple versions of the character, with Batman’s 2016 Rebirth suit being a clear influence. Wearing a textured grey batsuit, black cowl and gauntlets, all-white eyes, and a yellow-outlined bat logo, Jake creates a convincing Dark Knight that could easily pass as the next live-action iteration of the hero. In the second post, Jake’s golden utility belt and the shade of purple applied to the inside of his cape fully sell this design, proving once again that Batman is a hero whose visual style cannot be matched.
James Gunn is on the verge of rebooting DC’s live-action universe with July’s Superman, yet with Batman: The Brave and the Bold still on track for being the Dark Knight’s inaugural appearance in the DCU, fans can only speculate as to what the character will look like onscreen, to say nothing about who might be under the cowl when the film hits theaters a few years from now. Luckily for Batman fans, cosplayers like Jake Fogg (@foggyknight14) continue to find new ways to show off their nerdy creativity, with this custom batsuit being a design that Hollywood needs to replicate.
