born and raised in Huntsville/New Hope area, Mark Spears went to New Hope High School and graduated in ’93. He is currently working for DC Comics as an artist on Superman (Action Comics). He also works on Spawn for Image Comics. In the past year Spears has worked on Power Rangers for Boom Comics as well. He just started working in the comic book industry in 2023, and already has created over 30 covers. His Action Comics #1066 cover for DC Comics that came out at the end of June was #5 on trending comics, beating out by Deadpool’s first appearance, Spider-man #1 and a few others. It remained in the top #17 for 3 weeks. It was the only comic that was not a #1 issue or a first appearance by a character. It was one of DC Comics highest trending comics of the year. He has his own comic book series called Mark Spears Monsters that is coming to comic book stores all over the world September 25th . It was the highest preordered independent comic book #1 issue by a solo creator (writer/artist/colorist). Before the comic found a publisher Spears had done a kickstarter for it last Decemeber and raised 57k to create the series and that too was one of the highest ever by a solo creator.
