A month ago, Bleeding Cool scooped the news that Trinity, the daughter of Wonder Woman, would be getting her own DC Comics series.
The series features three versions of Trinity from different times working together.
Trinity teams with the Super Sons in a special coda preview in Trinity Special: World’s Finest.
The series explores the search for Trinity’s father, a storyline hinted in Wonder Woman #14.
A month ago, Bleeding Cool scooped the news that Trinity, the daughter of Wonder Woman, would be getting her own series. written by Wonder Woman writer Tom King. We also stated that “Bleeding Cool gets the tip-off that Trinity will see three different versions of Trinity from different times: the toddler, the middle-grader, and the older teenager previously seen in Trinity’s stories, but all existing together and working together at the same time.”
And in today’s Trinity Special: World’s Finest, which collects the Wonder Woman Trinity backup strips from Wonder Woman written by King and drawn by Belen Ortega, we get a special coda. An exclusive preview. With all three versions of Trinity together, sat on the sofa, discussing their current plight.
As Bleeding Cool also reported, they are on a quest to find their father, the identity of whom is meant to be revealed in Wonder Woman #14, along with the birth of Trinity.
And, surrounded by the Batman and Superman family, even more of them turned into dogs, presumably by Circe, than last time, we are told that Trinity will be getting her first solo series soon. And if this is a preview, that means including three time-split versions of herself altogether. And does this mean that each Trinity has their own pair of Jonathan Kent/Damian Wayne dog-transformed pets to look after? Oh Circe…
We also recalled that there is precedence for this. Checkmuncer the file “Cromer”. The comic book Wonder Woman #105 in 1959, The Secret Origin of Wonder Woman written and edited by Robert Kanigher, established that Wonder Woman was born and grew up on Paradise Island. Several Wonder Girl adventures set during earlier years followed, including those about Wonder Tot – Wonder Woman as a toddler. From Wonder Woman #124 in 1961, Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl, and Wonder Tot appeared together in stories labelled “impossible tales”, works of fiction created by their mother, Queen Hippolyta, who could supernaturally splice together films of herself and Diana at different ages and create new narratives.
Now, it seems, we will have three ages of Trinity, all together at the same time as well… expect Trinity #1 to launch in December or early next year for DC All-In. Collectors might want to try and get this 1:25 cardstock cover for Trinity Special: World’s Finest..
