DC Compact Comics Head Back To Print, 15 Added To Line For 2025

DC Compact Comics has been a hit for the publisher. The pocket-sized books collect new-reader-friendly volumes of classic comic book runs and stories, for the affordable price of $9.99. Clearly, readers and stores have responded because all 10 of the books released in 2024 have gone back for second printings. And now DC is expanding the program, with 15 new Compact Comics to be released in 2025.

“DC has one of the world’s largest comics libraries, and DC Compact Comics allow new or curious graphic novel readers to easily pick up a copy of one of DC’s most iconic stories in an approachable, value-priced format similar to mass paperbacks and manga,” said Anne DePies, DC’s SVP and general manager via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “By innovating DC’s storytelling across popular genres like mystery, science fiction, adventure, thriller, and more, we’re able to continuously deliver new products and expand distribution channels.”

If you haven’t checked them out before, the full-color trades are 5.5″ x 8.5″, and include an array of titles including Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, All-Star Superman by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, Far Sector by N.K. Jemisin and Jamal Campbell, Catwoman: Trail of the Catwoman by Darwyn Cooke and Ed Brubaker, Batman: The Court of Owls Saga by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, and more.

Watchmen, in fact, has proven so popular it’s gone back for a third printing, which hit back in September. Here’s a list of what to expect in the rest of 2024, and keep reading for the full lineup for 2025.

As mentioned, DC Compact Comics will expand from 10 titles in 2024 to 15 new titles in 2025. They include Kingdom Come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross, Batwoman: Elegy by Greg Rucka and J.H. Williams III, DC: The New Frontier by Darwyn Cooke, V for Vendetta by Alan Moore and David Lloyd, We3 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, and more. New titles will begin hitting stores in May, and run through November.
