Sofia Falcone is a ruthless serial killer and the daughter of Carmine Falcone, who took the TV Show by storm after showcasing her merciless nature in The Penguin Episode 1. No wonder her enemies know her by the name of the Hangman. She has been one of the mainline villains of Batman, and Oswald Cobblepot’s standalone series The Penguin also saw her as one of the greatest threats residing in Gotham City. Well, here, we discuss whether Sofia Falcone appears in DC Comics.

Yes, Sofia is a DC Comic character who first appeared in the Long Halloween series of Batman, which ran from 1996 to 1997. The character was created by Jeff Loeb, who once confessed that Sofia’s inspiration was taken from 1972’s The Godfather’s Sonny Corleone.

Sofia Falcone was seen helping her father to unveil the identity of the Holiday Killer, who was later revealed to be her own brother, Alberto. This was the first time we saw Sofia in the DC Comics. Later, she reappeared in Dark Victory, in which a new serial killer was targeting the police in Gotham City. However, in the end, it was revealed that the brutal killer was no one else but Sofia herself, and this event in the comic book gave birth to the Madmax’s ‘Hangman.’

Since then, she has appeared in several comic books associated with the Caped Crusader, such as Catwoman: When in Rome and Batman. Teen Wolf actress Crystal Reed played the character in the Crime Drama TV Show Gotham, and now, American actress Cristian Milioti is portraying her in The Penguin.

Despite being a worthy villain and a potential member of the Falcone family, Sofia didn’t receive many comic book appearances. She has been associated chiefly with Batman and has appeared in only a handful of comic books. However, when The Penguin featured the live-action version of the serial killer, fans didn’t take much time to recognize the DC character.

Sofia is a complex character and much more interesting than her brother. She’s a stone-cold killer who enjoys inflicting pain. Of course, Sofia didn’t get as much highlight as other villains like Penguin or Riddler, but that’ll certainly change after the Penguin TV show. The character has already captivated the audience in the first episode, and hopefully, her character arc will only go uphill when the story progresses.
