Created by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo in 2017, the character headlined his own miniseries in 2019. He is the Earth-22 Batman who was transformed by the Joker and turned his son Damian into a mini-Joker, akin to Tim Drake’s transformation in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. The Batman Who Laughs became so popular, he spurred the creation of many similar variants of other DC characters.
