It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s been 87 years to the day that Superman made his first appearance in Action Comics #1. Since that iconic move, back in 1938, the Man of Steel has taken on so many forms, from comics to campy incarnations to dazzling big-screen adaptations and, most recently, the CW’s top-tier take on the character, Superman & Lois.
Today, comic shops, books stores, websites and all sorts of supergeeks are set to mark the occasion with various events, giveaways, sales and—if we’re lucky—maybe even a new trailer for James Gunn’s upcoming feature starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult.
