Art the Clown is now the Clown Prince of Crime, as Terrifier icon David Howard Thornton takes on the role of the DC’s most infamous villain in Jokers Wild.
Now on YouTube, Thornton stars as the Joker in the 13-minute fan film alongside Joel LeBlanc as Robin and Hunter G. Williams as Batman.
Written and directed by Aaron W. Bennett, the short is inspired by a plot point from the 1988 Batman comic storyline A Death in the Family — with a gory twist.
The Joker has finally captured Robin. Will the Dark Knight be able to save him in time, or will the Joker enact his most gruesome joke to date? Find out below.
As a fan film, Jokers Wild was produced with no intent to benefit financially through its presentation. Rather, the filmmakers wish to express their love of the source material with fellow fans and hope to inspire future independent filmmakers to do the same.
Thornton, who cites the Joker his favorite villain of all time, previously played the character in the Nightwing: Escalation web series in 2016-2017.
Thornton can next be seen in Steamboat Willie-inspired horror movie Screamboat, due out in April. Until then, you can watch Damien Leone‘s Terrifier 3 now on Digital and physical media and on SCREAMBOX on February 14.
