Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is an animated film adaptation of Frank Miller‘s iconic and legendary DC Comics graphic novel. The film was split into two parts and was released in 2012 and 2013. The story is set in a dystopian future where Bruce Wayne has retired from his role as Batman for roughly a decade now. Since his “retirement,” Gotham City has descended into chaos and is now being plagued with crime and terrorized by a new gang called the Mutants. However, you can not keep a good bat down, and he must rise from the shadow to restore order to Gotham once again.
McFarlane Toys is now bringing this animated feature to life with a Gold label Exclusive The New Batman Adventures 3-Pack. This set consists of three figures: The Dark Knight, Carrie Kelley as Robin, and the Mutant Leader. The whole set showcases a more animated and cartoony style with bulky designs right from the graphic novel and animated film. McFarlane even included reproduction animation cels for each character with model sheets and art frames. Collectors will only be able to find this set at Best Buy for $69.99 with an October 2024 release.
