The following contains major spoilers for Gotham City Sirens #1, on sale now from DC Comics.

DC’s Gotham City Sirens are back in action, and this time they’re up against one of their hometown’s deadliest villains.

Gotham City Sirens #1 brings the classic lineup of Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman back together for a whole new story, one which has already cost numerous people their lives. As it turns out, Jaina Hudson’s other half, the White Rabbit, has been caught up in the middle of a plot involving bio-mechanical big game and murderous trophy hunters. Worse still, the one running these twisted games is none other than Punchline herself, and she has no intentions of ending the show early.

Absolute Power: Amanda Waller’s Greatest Weapon Finally Turns On Her

Another one of Amanda Waller’s powerful agents is falling apart at the seams — and it could lead to the end of her war against DC’s heroes.

Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman first formed the eponymous team in 2009’s Gotham City Sirens #1 by Paul Dini and Guillem March. Although all three of these iconic femme fatales had worked together and teamed up in years past, Gotham City Sirens marked the first time that they officially banded together as a team of their own. The original series picked up during the then-ongoing “Batman: Reborn” storyline and ran for twenty-six issues.

Jaina Hudson, better known as the White Rabbit, grew up in Gotham after her family made the move from Pakistan. Born to a diplomat and famous actress, Jaina traveled in many of the same circles as Bruce Wayne, with whom she shared a flirtatious relationship that never really went anywhere. Eventually, Jaina developed the ability to split her physical form into two distinct personas, her own and that of the White Rabbit, which led her to a life of crime. When separated, both halves of Jaina still share a single consciousness, making the White Rabbit’s capture all the more harrowing.

The Boy Wonder gives one of Batman’s worst enemies a glimpse of the closure she has been seeking for nearly forty years.

Alexis Kaye, better known as Punchline, developed a fast obsession with the Joker at a young age after nearly losing her life in one of the villain’s many schemes. Believing that the Joker himself had a greater purpose than wanton chaos, Alexis joined forces with the villain and reimagined herself as Punchline, the antithesis of Harley Quinn. Due to her dedication to the Joker above all else and the fact that Harley spent so long fighting to gain the independence she has today, Punchline has long hated Quinn almost as much as she loves the focus of her obsessions.
