Move over, Superman, because Superwoman is taking center stage on a variant cover that is so perfect, it demands she be seen in a feature film. Lois Lane has only been Superwoman for a few weeks, but she’s already making waves and an upcoming variant proves why the DCU should consider giving their Lois the same honor.

DC Comics promised big things with its new All In initiative and the publisher has made good on its word. From the return of a dramatically expanded Justice League to the debut of the ambitious Absolute Universe, the DC Universe is seeing a lot of exciting shifts. Things are even changing for longtime allies, like Lois Lane, who’s become the Super-Family’s latest powerhouse. While Lois adapts to her new powers, an amazing variant makes the case for Lois’ new alter ego to join the upcoming DCU film universe.

Lois Lane Has Never Looked Better As Superwoman

It’s a Perfect Look for the Upcoming DCU Adaptations

2025 is right around the corner and fans are getting a peek at what DC Comics has in store for the new year thanks to its solicitations for next February. February has a lot of exciting new things in store for fans, including new books focusing on Zatanna and the Green Lantern Corps. The latest solicitations also gave fans a peek at Superman #23, which comes with a cache of variant covers from artists like Dan Panosian and Guillem March. But one that really catches the eye is a variant by Nathan Szerdy that focuses on Lois rather than Superman.

Szerdy’s cover puts Lois Lane’s new alter ego, Superwoman, front and center in a field of clouds. Superwoman embraces a moment of peace from her otherwise now action-packed life as she floats in the sky looking quite demure and mindful. For those who have yet to see Lois’ Superwoman outfit in full detail, Szerdy’s cover does a great job of showing off Lane’s new look. From the yellow accents across her waist, to the tasteful collar, and the House of El crests on her shoulders, Lois’ costume gives her a unique spin on a ‘Super’ identity.

Superwoman is an Exciting Mystery in DC’s New ‘All In’ Era

DC is Building an Amazing Hype Around Lois Lane Right Now

While Lois has often left the superhero work to her husband, she found herself in a new dynamic with the Man of Steel in a post-Absolute Power DC Universe. Weeks after Waller’s attack failed to rein in the heroes of the world, things seemingly went back to normal. However, the Daily Planet’s newest Editor-in-Chief was hiding a secret from her staff: She was Metropolis’ newest hero, Superwoman, and had somehow gained Superman-like powers, from enhanced hearing to flight and super-strength.

Monitoring Superwoman’s new powers is Supercorp’s Mercy Graves, who analyzes Lois’ powers and makes sure she keeps them in check. But despite not being able to use the full range of Kryptonian powers like her husband, Lois has taken to her new role as Superman marvelously. She’s already helped Superman out on several missions and she can’t help but take pride in her new gifts. Even as Superman tries to keep Lois grounded, Superwoman is just too excited by what she can do with her brand-new-powers.

Superwoman is a Solid Opportunity for the DCU Films

Just Imagine Rachel Brosnahan as Superwoman

The newest DC film universe is just barely getting started, but thankfully, one of the first films in the DCU is a new Superman film, featuring Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. With a brand-new universe at his fingertips, James Gunn could do anything, including having Lois gain powers. It wouldn’t be inaccurate to comic book history, as Lois has become Superwoman multiple times, including during All-Star Superman, a notable favorite of Gunn’s.

Of course, at the end of the day, Szerdy’s variant cover is just a nice piece of art that excellently captures this moment in Lois Lane’s life. But with a new cinematic future on the horizon, it’d be nice to see something as awesome as this on the big screen. The new Superman movie is undoubtedly bound to have a lot of great moments, but the DCU could shine a little brighter with a Superwoman by the Man of Steel’s side.

Superman

The icon who launched the entire world of superheroes, the last son of Krypton escaped his dying world to crash land on Earth and be raised as Clark Kent. The world knows him better as Superman, the Man of Steel, the leader of the Justice League, and the most well-known hero in the DC Comics Universe. Blessed with the powers of a demigod, Kal-El of Krypton fights enemies both small and cosmic in his endless pursuit of truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.
