The Batman Part II is set to continue the early years of Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader. A new rumor suggests he’ll be joined in the film by Dick Grayson as a comic book-accurate Robin.
Despite being such a large part of Batman’s mythos, Robin has been almost entirely absent from modern films. The Batman Part II seems ready to buck this trend, with rumors suggesting that Dick Grayson will not only appear as Robin, but will be a preteen just like in the comics, with insider MyTimeToShineHello claiming he’ll be 13 during the events of the film.
Dick Grayson barely hitting puberty by the time he becomes Robin is nothing new. Originally, the character was only 8 when he became a vigilante, though some modern takes put him as old as 16. With Clayface also rumored to make his live-action debut in the film, it’s clear The Batman Part II is set to be everything fans wished for following Robert Pattinson’s debut as the Dark Knight.
Initially introduced as Batman’s sidekick Robin, Dick Grayson made his debut in Detective Comics #38 in 1940. Co-created by Bob Kane, Bill Finger, and Jerry Robinson, he eventually stepped out of Batman’s shadow to become Nightwing, solidifying his role as a significant figure within the DC Comics universe.
The first movie ended with Batman apprehending the Riddler, who has flooded Gotham City, though details about Part II are currently scarce. Matt Reeves is co-writing the script of the sequel with Mattson Tomlin.
The heads of DC Studios recently revealed that The Batman: Part II is set to hit theaters on October 2025. The first movie earned $770.8 million at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2022.
