A fan-made trailer reimagines The Dark Knight in the style of The LEGO Batman Movie, combining the lightest and darkest movies in Batman’s recent DC Universe history. In recent years, there have been many different interpretations of Bruce Wayne’s Batman in just as many styles. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy introduced Christian Bale’s modernized and haunted Bruce Wayne, The Batman debuted Robert Pattinson’s gritty detective and The LEGO Batman Movie saw Will Arnett voice a fun Caped Crusader, and some of these styles have now been brought together.
A new fan-made video shared by 22 BRICKS adapts the official trailer for 2008’s The Dark Knight with LEGO, taking inspiration from The LEGO Batman Movie and other LEGO-ized videos. This trailer showcased Heath Ledger’s iconic Joker for the first time, while marking the return of Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne after his first appearance in 2005’s Batman Begins. Combining one of Batman’s darkest movies, The Dark Knight, with one of his lightest, The LEGO Batman Movie, was brilliant, and the trailer still packs its punch.
What The Dark Knight’s LEGO Fan Trailer Means
There Is Still A Lot Of Love For Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy
The fact that The Dark Knight has once again been reimagined as late as November 2024 proves that there is still a huge amount of love for the 2008 sequel. Ever since its release, The Dark Knight has been widely regarded as one of the strongest superhero movies of all time, especially because of Christian Bale’s depiction of Batman himself and the late Heath Ledger’s remarkable performance as the Joker. This seems to still be the case, with the LEGO trailer highlighting the impact that The Dark Knight still carries and the celebration that surrounds its achievements.
LEGO Batman 2 Would Have Done Batman V Superman’s Story Better
The abandoned The LEGO Batman Movie 2 would have brought Bruce Wayne back for a new adventure that had a better plan for Batman V Superman’s story.
Beyond just underlining the fact that The Dark Knight is still one of the most popular superhero movies ever, this new fan-made trailer shows the joy and entertainment that can be found by adapting these stories into LEGO. 2017’s The LEGO Batman Movie was a successful project for DC, with an 89% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes and a total box office draw of $312.2 million against a budget of $80 million. Marvel recently saw a similar LEGO success with the 2023 release of LEGO Marvel Avengers: Code Red, so this fan-made trailer is relevant and effective.
Our Take On The Dark Knight’s LEGO Fan Trailer
The Dark Knight’s LEGO Trailer Is A Fun Interpretation
As almost a shot-for-shot remake of the first trailer for The Dark Knight, this fan-made LEGO trailer is a strong effort to restate the passion for the 2008 movie. The Dark Knight is a masterpiece by Christopher Nolan, not the typical superhero story. In the wake of the disappointing performance of Joker: Folie à Deux and the lackluster depiction of Batman and the Joker in the DC Extended Universe, bringing attention back to The Dark Knight is an easy way for DC fans to move on. Hopefully, the DCU’s upcoming The Brave and the Bold can produce this same love.
