Unfortunately, the answers that the heroes are seeking aren’t to be uncovering, though they are more than ready to reveal themselves. As it turns out, Hank Henshaw, better known as the Cyborg Superman, has put together a team of his own, and they are more than capable of claiming the Watchtower as their own.

Introduced as the Cyborg Superman in Dan Jurgens and Doug Hazlewood’s story “First Sighting – The Man of Tomorrow,” from the pages of 1993’s oversized Adventures of Superman #500, Hank Henshaw was a member of the LexCorp space shuttle Excalibur. When Hank and his three fellow crew members were exposed to dangerous cosmic radiation, which soon led to the rapid decay of his physical form. While Hank’s body died, his consciousness continued on from within the LexCorp mainframe, from which he could begin plotting his escape and ultimate revenge.
After taking leave from the planet in the form of an experimental spacecraft, Henshaw’s consciousness traversed the stars, becoming more demented and deranged as time went on. Eventually, Henshaw became completely convinced that the deaths of his friends and family were Superman’s fault, and that it was the Man of Steel who drove him away from Earth. This led Henshaw to develop a superpowered, cybernetic body, giving rise to the villainous Cyborg Superman.
