Different eras of the DC Universe are about to collide in a crossover that will truly test the Justice League. The first crossover under the DC All In initiative has finally been revealed, and it’s not just bringing back iconic villains, it’s setting the stage for the next chapter of the DCU.

This April, DC Comics is bringing the past and the future together in the crossover “We Are Yesterday”. The first three parts will be told over Batman/Superman: World’st Finest #38, Justice League Unlimited #6, and Batman/Superman: World’s Finest 2025 Annual.

The first story deals with Batman and Superman encountering Gorilla Grodd, who holds knowledge of the future (and potentially Darkseid’s death). The second part will finally reveal who is running the terrorist group Inferno and how they connect to DC’s worst villains. And the annual explores the Legion of Doom’s origins and their plans to take down Justice League Unlimited.

DC’s Justice League Crossover “We Are Yesterday” Connects the Past and Present

It All Begins with Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #38 on April 16th

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest is an ongoing title set in the DC Universe’s past and explores the earlier parts of the duo’s partnership. Though set in the past, events in the series have had serious repercussions for the DC Universe in the modern day. The first antagonist in the series, the Devil Nezha, became a prime antagonist in the Batman vs. Robin and Lazarus Planet events. Aethyr, the alien warden of the Phantom Zone, made a brief cameo at the end of one story before later playing a huge part in the Superman Superstars Action Comics storyline “Phantoms”.

This is, however, the first time there’s been a direct crossover between Batman/Superman: World’s Finest and something like Justice League Unlimited. From what information DC Comics has revealed, this will be one of the most consequential stories since DC All In began. The Legion of Doom has been absent since Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths, so why are they returning now? Are they connected to the Inferno group that’s out to seize control of the world in Justice League Unlimited? The past and present are going to collide in major ways, but what does it all mean for DC’s future?

“We Are Yesterday” Will Mean Big Things for DC All In

Don’t Miss This Important Chapter in DC Comics’ Big Story

While the mysteries of this “We Are Yesterday” remain to be seen, this is DC All In’s first crossover, which means anything could happen. Fans could get answers as to what Darkseid has been up to since his body was destroyed in the DC All In Special. Or perhaps the Inferno organization or the Legion of Doom’s plans for the League end up striking a major blow against the team. Whatever happens, the “We Are Yesterday” crossover is certain to have major consequences for the Justice League and the rest of the DC Universe.

“We Are Yesterday” begins in Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #38, available from DC Comics on April 16th.
