2025 has been a big year for the Toxic Avenger. Beyond the long-awaited release of the reboot movie starring Peter Dinklage, Toxie has seen a revival in comic books, thanks to Ahoy Comics. However, the latest series to feature the hero of Tromaville offers a tip of the hat to another beloved hero: Batman.

The cover of Toxie Team-Up #4 both honors and parodies a poster by the legendary Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson. Drawn by Jamal Igle, the cover depicts the Toxic Avenger posing alongside Dragonflyman, one of the two protagonists of The Wrong Earth. The crossover special will be scripted by The Wrong Earth author Tom Peyer, with Igle also handling the interior art.

The superhero satire centers around two hero variants, Dragonfly and Dragonflyman. Through an accident of super-science, they wind up on one another’s Earths. One is a dire, disturbed world born of the Dark Age of Comics. The other is a cheerful place akin to the Adam West Batman show. Precisely how Toxie will wind up meeting Dragonflyman and his sidekick, Stinger, remains to be seen. However it happens, it will certainly be hilarious.

The cover for Toxie Team-Up #4 and its inspiration may be viewed below.

The first three issues of Toxie Team-Up will team the Toxic Avenger with other Ahoy Comics characters. These will include Jesus from Second Coming, the Jersey Devil from Project: Cryptid and Acid Chimp from My Bad. However, Toxie Team-Up is only one of the comic series Ahoy Comics has published in the build-up to the new movie. Indeed, the Toxic Mess Summer event is unleashing even more Toxie mayhem.

Besides the monthly Toxic Avenger comic, which recently saw its first trade paperback collection, a Toxic Avenger Pin-Up Special releases on May 14. The first issue of Toxie Team-up #1 will be released on June 11, 2025. The Toxic Avenger reboot movie arrives in theaters on August 29, 2025.

Ahoy Comics’ The Toxic Avenger TP is now available to buy on Amazon.
