He’s been a good man. He’s been a bad guy. One thing he’s never been is uncomplicated. And despite his longevity, one thing he has never had is his own comic. That changes this December, as both halves of Harvey Dent star in a new DC All-In miniseries devoted to Two-Face. The new series will be written by Christian Ward, with art by Fábio Veras, colors by Ivan Plascencia, and letters by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.

Harvey Dent is perhaps second only to the Joker in Batman‘s gallery of rogues. In one sense, he is a dark mirror of Bruce Wayne and what he most fears becoming as a crusader fallen to darkness. In another sense, Two-Face is even more unpredictable than the Joker, being beholden to blind chance in the form of a coin flip. Yet he is a noble demon and true to his word once it is given.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be, or prouder, to be writing Two-Face’s very first solo series,” notes writer Christian Ward. “In our series, Harvey is trying to use his criminology skills to resolve the conflicts of Gotham’s weird and dangerous criminal underground . . . all the while he has his eye on a return to civilized society and perhaps reconciling with his old friend, Bruce Wayne.”

The new Two-Face series opens with a scarred yet reportedly sane Harvey Dent returning to court as a public defender. Harvey has apparently got both halves of his psyche working together, living and operating in one body. However, while the good Harvey wants to rebuild his life, the bad half is pushing for total control of the body and mind.

This conflict will come into play in Two-Face #1, where Harvey becomes an advocate for Gotham’s most notorious criminals. This leads him to represent the notorious serial killer Victor Zsasz. However, there’s good reason to believe that, for once, the murderous Zsasz might not be responsible for the killing in question. And who better to prove his innocence than someone who has been on both sides of the law?

Two-Face #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on December 4, 2024.
