The following contains spoilers for Suicide Squad Isekai Episode 10, streaming now on Hulu and Max.

As Suicide Squad Isekai ends its first season, many twists and turns unfold. Harley Quinn and Task Force X emerge victorious against the Undead King. This helps them forge a proper alliance with Fione and the Kingdom. Fione is the queen now, so it seems like the future is bright. Harley’s crew should be able to take resources over to Earth in this business partnership.

Well, paradise has a limit. It all blows up when Suicide Squad Isekai finale reveals Emperor Joker is behind it all. He is engineering war in the fantasy realm, thinking it’s romantic; a game Harley will thank him for later on after she evolves. With that in mind, here is a look at some villains who Emperor Joker could recruit to continue his sinister vision for next season.

Joker has access to the portal to bring folks over. Black Manta would be a tremendous asset. He joined Task Force X around 2011 and wreaked havoc for Amanda Waller. Joker could use him as muscle in this case, especially if Manta wants to move away from fighting Aquaman and the Justice League. There are many lakes, rivers and kaiju for Manta to appropriate. He could use his aquatic war vessels as well to control the waterways, mimicking House of the Dragon’s Sea Snake blockade.

This could hamper food and such in the Kingdom, making them more vulnerable should their citizens rise up against a government that can’t provide. Manta will be down for this, once Joker promises him land and riches — things this realm is full of. In terms of oceanic enemies, Manta would have King Shark to contend with, creating new, dynamic underwater battles.

Suicide Squad Isekai’s Joker could seek out Black Adam if he wants more firepower. Adam was a member of the Suicide Squad in the past. He couldn’t be controlled, though. This helped Captain Marvel, the Shazam family, and the Justice League stop his many attempts at a hostile takeover. If Adam did go over as part of the first trip Waller sent, Joker could have freed him from her neural bombs.

Adam would love a chance to cut loose, unleashing his godlike powers. The possibility of being an evil Superman here could be too good to turn down. He could be the trump card against the magic behemoth in Enchantress — someone who wants Joker’s head. There is even the possibility of tension and drama if he eyes Joker’s throne, himself, and decides he can form the ultimate magical partnership with Enchantress. Magic is the true power of the land, and these two would be almost unbeatable.

Poison Ivy would be a great asset to the Joker’s team due to what she represented in the comics. Ivy helped emancipate Harley from the Clown Prince of Crime. She and Harley even started a romance, which spilled over into the Harley Quinn cartoon and many other DC books.

The Suicide Squad anime can initially use Ivy as a villain. There are jungles, trees and other elements this plant queen can deploy as weapons. That could dovetail into her and Harley falling for each other, and Joker having a threat on the inside. But in the interim, Ivy — as an eco-terrorist — wouldn’t like the idea of Fione’s establishment and authority. Fione’s people have plundered the terrain, easily giving Ivy a reason to want them dead and to free what she thinks is an oppressed land.

In the source material, Parasite drained heroes, even Superman. Parasite adopted their powers and then tried to cause immense destruction. Joker would love to have someone like this on his side — a villain who loves killing for fun.

Parasite would also retain memories, giving the emperor insight that not even his staffs would extract. Joker could do with this sort of cerebral, mental weapon. Parasite was more of a tech-heavy villain in the recent My Adventures with Superman, so this is a chance to get the character back to basics in the animation realm. Being able to absorb Clayface’s shape-shifting, for example, would hamper the heroes in a big way.

Two Killer Frosts suited up for Waller’s team: Louise Lincoln and Caitlin Snow. Either could be used by Joker if he wants to change the landscape, literally. One may assume he’d use Killer Frost in the field to attack the Kingdom.

But Joker could use this tyrant for a bigger mission: freezing over the realm. Controlling the environment would give him an advantage and help advance his new legion towards the palace. This would make the concept of Killer Frost more intimidating than usual. Killer Frost has been used as a lackey. But such a direction makes her a bigger, chilly instrument of death.

There are a few Black Orchids to choose from. Susan Linden worked for Task Force X. Later, her offspring — Flora Black and Suzy — took on her mantle. They were invulnerable remixes of Poison Ivy. Later, Alba adopted this role in the New 52 as a retooled sort of Swamp Thing.

What makes Black Orchid even scarier is they have the potential to tap into the Green. This is the essence of all life. It could allow them (and by extension, the Joker) to control the landscape, all animals and monsters around like dragons, as well as the hybrid soldiers that the Kingdom have. She could even give Joker a new candidate for his queen once he sees the innate power she has.

Captain Boomerang (the George “Digger” Harkness version) is an iconic member of the Suicide Squad. The books, movies, cartoons and video games had him as comic relief in the team. But, make no mistake, he has always been a viable threat with his sharp boomerangs and military toughness.

Boomerang could be brought over as the equalizer Joker needs versus Suicide Squad Isekai’s Deadshot or Harley’s other gunman in Peacemaker. The clown would want an accurate sniper of his own. If Boomerang provides entertainment as a jester in Joker’s court, that would be a bonus. The point is, Boomerang would get to roam without punishment or compromise: aka, his dream environment.

Penguin was a member of the team in the 1980s. If Joker wants familiar faces around, he could bring Penguin over to help build a war council. Oswald Cobblepot would love this, evoking his mafia and mobster side.

Even as he assembles gangs, he’d definitely be another person fans would peg for a coup. Having another Batman villain would help boost the series’ popularity as well. With Colin Farrell’s Penguin series out in 2024, the character’s popularity will continue to rise. Suicide Squad Isekai Season 2 can capitalize on this stock down the line.

Starro is heavily affiliated with this brand. He has been used by Waller in the past. Plus, he was the villain of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie. In this instance, Joker could find the alien and use him and his spores to brainwash people. Joker would get to mind-control heroes from Harley’s team, making it difficult for them to attack Joker’s Empire.

This is what Starro lives for. With dragons and other creatures around, the giant cosmic starfish would get epic spectacles in terms of fights. The galaxy has many challenges and foes, but so does this realm. Once he gets to conquer, his bloodlust will be sated.

If Harley rebukes the clown, he can tap into the portal and bring the Harley replacement in: Punchline. She wanted to evolve and transcend what Harley was as Joker’s aide. Punchline would be the total antithesis to Harley, doing everything Joker wants to cause chaos. She wasn’t in the Suicide Squad in the books, but she would be very functional in this narrative.

Punchline breaking Harley’s heart could also be the catalyst for Suicide Squad Isekai’s Fione to avenge her ‘sister.’ Fione has strong mystical talents. All she needs is an excuse to enter the field. Punchline could be that mental dagger to the Kingdom, letting them know that Joker has a successor ready to do his bidding. The mind games would be off the charts.
